6-STEP PROCESS
1. Remove Old Lawn.
Removal of old grass/soil.
Level and grade.
2. Cap Irrigation.
Cap existing irrigation heads
as needed in new synthetic
turf area.
3. Install and Compact.
Install the Class 2 Road Base.
Compact to 90%.
4. Turf installation.
Cut, fasten and seam turf
to compacted base.
5. Infill Application.
Install the infill product with a
drop spreader over the newly installed synthetic turf
6. Groom.
Power Broom and groom

IS IT DOG FRIENDLY?
With over 80% of our customers being dog owners, our synthetic turf is the proven solution for a pet problem lawn. Liquids drain right through and droppings can be picked up as they would be with real grass and/or washed
off with a hose.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS PLAYING ON
SYNTHETIC TURF?
Kids love it! Our synthetic turf is softer and safer than real grass. Our Quartz infill is antimicrobial (non-toxic), allergen-free and will in no way harm either children or pets. In fact, our turf is installed in many day care centers around southern California.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Synthetic turf is designed to last 12 years in a sports field application with constant abuse. Realistically, you should expect our synthetic turf to last a period of 20-25 years in your yard.
HOW WELL DOES IT DRAIN?
Four words…better than real grass! Our synthetic turf has a high volume drainage backing that drains water at a rapid rate. Coupled with the crushed stone base, it is a superior drainage system for your lawn.
CAN IT STAIN?
We haven’t come across anything that can stain it yet. Even paint can be softened with paint remover and rinsed off. Sticky spills should be hosed off to prevent them from attracting dirt and bugs.
HOW HOT DOES IT GET?
Synthetic turf does not stay as cool as natural grass which has water running through it’s leaves, but it will not absorb or radiate heat like pavement, rock or brick. Much of the heat you may have heard about or experienced from artificial turf comes from the black rubber infill used on sports fields. Earth Design does not use this type of infill on residential installations. Our 100% natural quartz infill keeps the turf up to 40 degrees cooler than turf using black rubber infill.
WHAT KIND OF MAINTENANCE DOES
IT REQUIRE?
It is more of a matter of keeping it clean than maintenance. Easily remove organic materials from the surface by using a leaf blower. Rakes may be required for moving heavier objects. A stiff bristle broom can be used to “fluff” the high traffic areas.

All of our installations are completed by supervised and trained installers, not day laborers, which allows us to consistently maintain a high-level of quality.
